This unit is broken into three separate parts to make planning your adjectives unit a breeze!

TEACH IT:

• Teaching Posters- One for adjectives and one for adjectives that compare- hang up these posters during your adjectives study and reference them often!
• Adjectives Anchor Chart- just print, color, assemble! Laminate for durability. Keep up all year for students to reference.
• Adjective/Not an Adjective sorting pocket book- Help students understand the difference between adjectives and nouns.
• Listen Up for Adjectives- tie in literature! As students listen to a story, have them write down some of the adjectives they hear as well as what noun it is describing.
• Adjectives Gallery Walk- Use this up and moving activity to have your students practice using adjectives. Place gallery posters around the room with different objects. Then, let students rotate through adding adjectives that describe the objects.

• Proper Nouns Assessment- Students identify proper nouns, then rewrite sentences.
• Possessive Nouns Assessment- students choose the correct possessive noun from multiple choice answers. Then, rewrite sentences.
• Collective Noun Assessment- Students complete sentences by selecting the best collective noun from a word bank. Then, select answers form multiple choice.

As teachers, we know that just "knowing" about nouns isn't enough. Nouns allow us to strengthen our writings. Use the mini-lesson and story template to help students create details narratives using nouns. This pack also includes a writing activity with.

• Neat Nouns! Students work through the writing process to complete this narrative writing piece using nouns! Includes story template and noun cards, narrative writing pre-writing organizer, rough draft and final draft papers. Primary and regular writing lines are available as well as a self assessment rubric. After completing their writing, students illustrate their narrative.
