Partner Parody Project - "My Favorite Things" The Sound of Music, PDF & Google

This is a partner parody project with "My Favorite Things" from The Sound of Music.

It can be a great end of the year project for General Music, Choir, or Band students. It is also great for distance learning. It comes in a PDF version as well as Google Slides.

Students learn definitions of terms like parody, rhythm, meter, rhyme, and syllable as they apply in a song. After brainstorming their favorite things, students will write their own stanzas as a personal parody to the song, "My Favorite Things." Then they combine their new lyrics with a partner's work to create the entire song and parody.
This is a great writing project that uses music and allows students to tell the teacher and their classmates a little bit about themselves.

Presentation and student packet included. Also several video links are provided to help with teaching the song and performing the parodies.
