What educators are saying

I send this home as support for my families so they have ideas on how to help their student outside of school.

Description

This Parent Pack is full of simple and easy-to-implement tips, strategies, and games for parents in math and reading. This pack is perfect to pass out at parent conferences!

Do parents ask you how they can help or work with their child? Would you LOVE for parents to work with their child at home but just not sure how to do that?

The Parent Pack just might be your answer! I created this to give to my parents at parent conferences. I wanted to give my parents simple and easy ways they could work with their child and get more involved. Parents loved them and were so appreciative that I gave them simple and easy ideas, tips, activities, games, and strategies that would help their child be more successful.

The Parent Pack includes:

  • Reading tips and strategies
  • Math tips and strategies
  • Critical thinking stems in card format and a choice board
  • Math games that are simple and easy to implement

I like to give these out at parent conferences instead of at the beginning of school because I like to teach all of these strategies and games to my students first. That way they can "help" their parents when practicing them at home, and parents like that their child already knows them. You don't have to teach the students first, but it really does help.

Some quotes from parents who have used this:

"These are great! I especially like the egg carton tip, the thinking cards and tips on reading."

"I love it! If parents use these tools just imagine the mind of the kids blossoming into great conversations about anything."

"Who knew math could be FUN?! Math is my least favorite subject to help my kids with (because I too struggled as a child). These ideas make it fun for them...and ME!

I really like the idea of the "thinking cards" to open up some creative dialogue with my kids, when we would otherwise just be plowing through a book, movie, etc. It allows them to offer an opinion (which they always have one), and opens MY eyes to whether or not they actually understand/grasp what we just read or watched."
