The Parent Guide for Reading (Not Editable)

The Parent Guide for Reading is a great resource for parents to help their child practice and improve their reading skills at home. Two versions are included: K-2nd grade and 3rd-5th grade. This two page PDF handout can be printed front to back and distributed to parents during:

-Beginning of Year Grade Level Meetings

-Open House

-Parent/Teacher Conferences

-ARD Meetings

-Family Reading Nights

-During Book Fairs

The handout includes comprehensive tips on what parents can do to help their child with reading.

Topics include:

- Promoting Reading as Lifelong and Important - Things Parents Can Do to Promote Literacy

- Reading All Around Us

- Questions to Ask Before, During and After Reading

Also included is an At Home Reading Log to encourage students to read 15-20 minutes each night. Parents and their child can log the books they read each evening. Parents can sign and return the log to school for students to collect credit or a reward.

For Editable Products:

Some of the pages in these products can be edited. You would edit the text boxes and tables on these pages just like any PowerPoint document you would have created yourself. You need to have a basic knowledge of how to use the PowerPoint program to format, add, delete or make changes to the text. You also must have PowerPoint 2007 or higher installed in your computer.

Some titles, graphics and background colors cannot be changed due to Copyright Restrictions.
