Papa Pasquale - The animated story of an Italian immigrant.

"Papa Pasquale" is an award-winning short film, by director JC Little. This lively animated story may be used as an entertaining introduction to discussions on immigration, and the migrants who came to North America from Europe to become Canadians and Americans. A reminder that most of the population of North America comes from somewhere else.

Synopsis:
A young man dreaming of adventure, Pasquale leaves his family in the olive groves of southern Italy and heads to Canada in 1951. Once there, he must work hard to build a new life and decides to open a hair salon. Bringing his twelve brothers and sisters over to help with the business, Pasquale eventually reunites his whole family. Animated to an irresistible tarantella, the film was inspired by the true story of the Folinos, a family of Italian immigrants and the life they built as Canadians.
