Description

This product is a treasure... a Pacing Guide for American History teachers, crafted by me, with CA Standards included. (Some school districts would call this pacing guide a "scope and sequence.") Also, I have just recently added the new California Framework Essential Questions to this document!

Impress your principals, parents, and History Department with a carefully crafted, 36-week Pacing Guide. They will all think you are the most organized teacher!

If you're a new teacher, this product is a must! I created this when I was a new teacher and instantly impressed my administrators. In fact, this Pacing Guide has been adopted by various 8th grade History teachers in my school district.

When your new school year begins in the Fall, simply tweak a couple dates in the Pacing Guide to match your school district's schedule, and that's it!

At your first Department meeting, bust this out and show your colleagues how prepared you are.

This Pacing Guide lays out a week-by-week map to teaching US History content from the Jamestown settlement (1607) to World War I (1914). It works perfectly for all California 8th grade history teachers, but would work for plenty of other teachers in other states.

This Pacing Guide uses California Standards (I assume that it could be easily adapted to fit the Standards of other states). I strongly suggest that you use this guide, along with the Common Core literacy/reading standards, when you begin to create your curriculum. Again, I have also incorporated the pertinent CA Framework Essential Questions.

Thank you,

Mr. Aurelio Cortez
