What educators are saying

Adorable craft! My kids loved making the Pete the Cat project. Fun way to teach story recall and sequencing of events!
My students loved the Pete the Cat retelling strip that we used in our author study. They were engaged and able to use the craft to retell to their parents.

Description

Students will have fun with these activities inspired by the cute Pete book by James Dean called Pete the Cat PETE AT THE BEACH.

Included in this packet:

**A sequencing cut-and-paste worksheet

**A noun/verb/adjective cut-and-paste worksheet

**Draw yourself surfing/answer sensory questions

**Complete a beach scene drawing including Pete/write four adjectives that would describe Pete. Use one of those adjectives in a sentence.

**"Who might have said this?" worksheet cut-and-paste

**My Favorite Part of the story worksheet

**Beginning, middle, and end of the story worksheet

**A story events worksheet--one version has writing lines and one is blank in case students would like to draw the story events. Some students may do both! (write on one side and illustrate on the other)

**A retell-the-story sequencing craft--large picture cards are included so that the students may first order the events on the pocket chart, whiteboard, etc. to refer to when arranging their pictures on the retelling strip

**Cards with sentences to match with the pictures on the pocket chart

**A character, setting, problem, solution two-page write and illustrate activity

**A writing worksheet in which students tell about a time they might have been afraid of doing a new activity
