Outdoor Explorers: (Nature Sensory Writing, Art, Drama)

Explore nature with these sensory writing, art, and movement activities! These Outdoor Journals will lead your students on a scavenger hunt and inspire them to use their senses to explore the outdoors. After the scavenger hunt, have your students act out their discoveries using these colorful Movement Cards.

I've included two different versions of the Outdoor Journals. One is in a worksheet format where you photocopy pages and staple into a packet. The other is in a booklet format where you print the pages double sided and fold into a 8 ½” by 5 ½” booklet.

Movement Cards:

Through guided movement exercises, students become the buzzing bee, butterfly, or small rock they experienced on their scavenger hunt. Lots of laughter can be heard as students dance around the yard and become the nature that surrounds them!
