This slideshow compiles a total of 35 min. of video footage, covering the early history of tap-dancing, and focusing on the career highlights of the Nicholas Brothers, including their earliest routine, in "Pie Pie Blackbird" (1932), the route in "Stormy Weather" (1943) regarded by man as the best dance sequence ever filmed, and their appearance in 1990 at the American Dance Honors. It introduces students to the history and leading contemporary practitioners of this indigenous American art form, beloved by people of all ages and races.
