This murder mystery will engage students by taking them on a journey to solve math problems and puzzles to solve a murder. Students will need to gather evidence by completing charts, interviewing witnesses by sorting through 3 digit numbers, and comparing data to narrow the suspects. Finally, they will narrow it down to two suspects, with a final hundreds chart puzzle to uncover the truth.

Number problems and puzzles included:

  • Codebreaking with a number puzzle to identify initial suspects.
  • Making smallest and biggest number from 3 digits
  • Ordering numbers to 1000
  • Line up of odd and even numbers and ordering numbers with 3 digits
  • Number lines with hundreds to 1000
  • Completing a hundred chart to uncover the main suspect.
