What educators are saying

My personal finance class learned so much from this activity. A great addition to the Dave Ramsey lessons.
I used this with my 11th grade students in our Paying for College Unit. Students were able to research and complete the mini project and learn along the way.

Description

In this activity, students apply the concept of opportunity cost to the economic decision of going to college. They examine both the opportunity cost of going to a college of their choice, and not going to college. This worksheet takes students through a step by step process to calculate this cost. At the end, students are required to answer a short answer question detailing what choice is best for them by explaining the opportunity cost associated with each decision. My economics students find this to be a very engaging way to apply the idea of opportunity cost to their daily lives.
