This Set Includes:
* 3 kindergarten opinion writing graphic organizers
* 2 1st grade opinion writing graphic organizers
* 2 2nd grade opinion writing graphic organizers
* 1 3rd grade opinion writing graphic organizer
* 1 4th grade opinion writing graphic organizer
* 1 5th grade opinion writing graphic organizers
* 1 6th grade opinion writing graphic organizers
* 1 text features page for grades 2-6
* 1 reference page with linking words and phrases

I have found that the OREO format is easy for students to remember and duplicate when working independently or needing to draw their own organizers for state testing (grades 3-6). When followed correctly, this format takes the guesswork out of trying to fulfill the requirements of the standards. For teacher reference, the standards have been listed at the bottom of each page along with a link to the CCSS website.

This set is excellent for differentiating instruction. Teachers can choose the graphic organizer that best meets the needs of each student. Higher level organizers can be used for enrichment and lower level organizers can be used for struggling writers.

This bundle is also perfect for a school that wants to create consistency in how their students plan writing pieces for the three major modes of writing. The organizers are useful for scaffolding instruction for elementary students from grades K-6. If you are interested in using this resource for your school or district, please take a look here:

SCHOOL LICENSE (for up to 49 teachers)
DISTRICT LICENSE (for 50+ teachers)

In addition, scaffolding can be achieved for individual classrooms by having students begin with a simpler graphic organizer and work their way up to one that is more complex.

Because the Common Core State Standards require students to begin using linking words and phrases in 2nd grade, a reference page of common linking words and phrases has been included with each set. This page could be copied on the back side of any of the graphic organizers for students to use as an easy-to-access resource.

I hope you find this bundle of resources to be useful in helping your students to succeed with Common Core writing! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or recommendations under the "Ask a Question" tab in my store.

This set is perfect for differentiating instruction. Teachers can choose the graphic organizer that best meets the needs of each student. Higher level organizers can be used for enrichment and lower level organizers can be used for struggling writers.

The organizers are also useful for scaffolding instruction by having the whole class begin with a simpler graphic organizer and work their way up to one that is more complex.

Because the Common Core State Standards require students to begin using linking words and phrases in 2nd grade, a page of common linking words and phrases has been included with this set. This page could be copied on the back side of any of the graphic organizers for students to use as a reference. For the grade levels that require linking words and phrases, you will notice a “link” symbol on the graphic organizers. This is the location where students should place the words of their choice from the list provided.

I hope you find this resource to be useful in helping your students to succeed with opinion writing! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or recommendations. I would also greatly appreciate your Feedback and Rating!
