    Description

This bundle contains 13 great resources to help students master how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. The different types of activities that are included in this bundle are

    1) Differentiated Math Mazes

Students must solve problems correctly in order to draw arrows through the different leveled mazes to help them get from the start of a maze to the end.

    2) Jeopardy Game

Students gain valuable practice by playing this classic game

    3) Error Analysis

Students utilize their critical thinking skills in order to find mistakes to problems that have already been solved. After finding a mistake students explain in words what the mistake was prior to solving it correctly.

    4) Scavenger Hunt

After answering a question, students must walk around the room to find their answer. This allows students to know which hung on your wall classroom question to answer next. This engaging activity allows your students to get up and move around the room as opposed to just staying at their desks all class!

    5) Color by Number on Adding and Subtracting Fractions

Students will circle their answers to each of the twelve problems given. The problems involve students either adding or subtracting fractions. They then find the problem number on the coloring page and color each section with the appropriate color to make a beautiful design!

    6) Color by Number on Multiplying and Dividing Fractions

Students will circle their answers to each of the twelve problems given. The problems involve students either multiplying or dividing fractions. They then find the problem number on the coloring page and color each section with the appropriate color to make a beautiful design!

    7) Color by Number on Fraction Word Problems

Students will circle their answers to each of the twelve problems given. The problems involve students answering a word problem involving fractions. They then find the problem number on the coloring page and color each section with the appropriate color to make a beautiful design!

    8) Math Puzzle

Students practice adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions by putting together a 4 x 4 math puzzle.

    9) Anchor Charts

Five total anchor charts that help students to understand how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. This resource is great for ELL and SPED students. Included are directions on how you can print these anchor charts BIG AND FOR FREE so that your students can see them no matter where they are sitting in your classroom.

    10) Math Murder Mystery! Adding and Subtracting Fractions

Students practice adding and subtracting fractions by helping Detective Algebras solve a murder mystery! The more questions (clues) students answer, the closer students will be to discovering the murderer!

    11) Math Murder Mystery! Multiplying and Dividing Fractions

Students practice multiplying and dividing fractions by helping Detective Algebras solve a murder mystery! The more questions (clues) students answer, the closer students will be to discovering the murderer!

    12) Adding and Subtracting Fractions Task Cards

This set of task cards contain 24 problems along with a student recording sheet. These task cards make great bell ringers, exit tickets, or could be used as stations.

    13) Multiplying and Dividing Fractions Task Cards

This set of task cards contain 24 problems along with a student recording sheet. These task cards make great bell ringers, exit tickets, or could be used as stations.

Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, ๐˜ข/๐˜ฃ + ๐˜ค/๐˜ฅ = (๐˜ข๐˜ฅ + ๐˜ฃ๐˜ค)/๐˜ฃ๐˜ฅ.)
Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of fractions referring to the same whole, including cases of unlike denominators, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem. Use benchmark fractions and number sense of fractions to estimate mentally and assess the reasonableness of answers. For example, recognize an incorrect result 2/5 + 1/2 = 3/7, by observing that 3/7 < 1/2.
Interpret a fraction as division of the numerator by the denominator (๐˜ข/๐˜ฃ = ๐˜ข รท ๐˜ฃ). Solve word problems involving division of whole numbers leading to answers in the form of fractions or mixed numbers, e.g., by using visual fraction models or equations to represent the problem. For example, interpret 3/4 as the result of dividing 3 by 4, noting that 3/4 multiplied by 4 equals 3, and that when 3 wholes are shared equally among 4 people each person has a share of size 3/4. If 9 people want to share a 50-pound sack of rice equally by weight, how many pounds of rice should each person get? Between what two whole numbers does your answer lie?
Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication to multiply a fraction or whole number by a fraction.
