What educators are saying

I loved the steps to determine where to divide. Very helpful for the kids when working on assignment.
Thank you Rebecca for another AMAZING resource! I know that no matter what curriculum I am given, I can meet my students needs by supplementing (and in all honesty sometimes replacing) with your slides! This section of our ELA block takes 15-45 minutes daily. It is worth every precious minute!

Description

Are you looking for some structured literacy whole-group phonics lessons to help your students master open and closed syllables? These digital phonics lessons can be used to supplement or strengthen ANY core phonics program or curriculum. These open and closed syllable phonics lessons will have your students reading, writing and spelling VCV words in no time!

PLEASE note: Students must have the closed syllable VCCV pattern mastered BEFORE moving on to the open syllables with the VCV pattern. You can find everything you need to teach closed syllables HERE!

This set includes over 140 INTERACTIVE digital slides, student practice sheets (to be used during guided practice, independent practice or in small groups). I've also included an open syllable poster and syllable division posters (to be used as classroom décor/anchor charts)!

All lessons include both a POWERPOINT AND Google Slides™ version.

**Be on the look out for more explicit phonics lesson sets! I have thousands of slides just waiting to be posted! My goal is to post a new skill/lesson each month (I'm shooting for 1 a week, but trying to be realistic)!**

Why I created These Lessons:

I created these lessons because my core phonics program was just not cutting it! No matter how hard I worked, my struggling readers were still struggling! After spending countless hours researching, attending trainings and webinars and hundreds of book studies into The Science of Reading, I quickly realized that my phonics program was never going to provide my students with the explicit, whole-group instruction they so desperately needed! I felt like a rock star in my small group, but because I was relying solely on my balanced-literacy curriculum to teach whole group phonics, I felt defeated and frustrated. NOT ANY MORE! I took matters into my own hands and created a series of structured literacy digital phonics lessons that are based entirely on The Science of Reading.
