Description

These sheets go along with the story "A Saguaro's Story" in the Open Court third grade book for unit 4. Use these resources throughout the week to supplement your teaching of this story.

The vocabulary sheet is used by cutting out and on the dotted lines, then gluing behind where it says "Unit 4 week 2" down the side and students placing it in their notebook. Then, they can write the definitions underneath each flap with the word.

They will cut and paste direct questions and answers from the text, sequence events chronologically, identify cause and effect relationships from the story, and use context clues to select the correct word using prefix and suffix words.

This also includes a free resource for a cactus hotel that has information about the saguaro cactus, real images of animals living in the cacti, worksheets on the lifecycle of the cactus, and finally saguaro height identification and labeling activities.

The answer key for each page is after the worksheets.
