Description

These sheets go along with the story "The Dancing Bird of Paradise" in the Open Court third grade book for unit 3. Use these resources throughout the week to supplement your teaching of this story.

The vocabulary sheet is used by cutting out and on the dotted lines, then gluing behind where it says "Unit 3 week 5" down the side and students placing it in their notebook. Then, they can write the definitions underneath each flap with the word.

They will cut and paste direct questions and answers from the text, compare and contrast two of the characters in the story, select vocabulary words to fit in sentence stems, identify and tell the meaning of various prefixes and suffixes, identify the authors (as well as their own) point of view for a section of the story, and sequence portions of the story in order.

The answer key for each page is after the worksheets.
