Off Limits Game (it's just like Taboo)

Off Limits is a fun, fast-paced game in which students must try to describe words to their teammates without using the word, or words on the card (compare to Taboo). I developed this game because I wanted my students to work on language skills. The game Taboo had words that were not appropriate for my students and Taboo Junior was no longer available to purchase, so I developed my own. While playing Off Limits students will be building vocabulary, using synonyms and antonyms, and painting pictures with words.

Basic Rules
The student who is up to play receives a handful of playing cars. Each card has an underlined word (the word they are to get their team to guess) and a list of words that are "off limits" (words they cannot use). The player may only use words, no gestures, to get their team to guess. They cannot use any of the words on the card, or a derivative of the words, as a clue. If they do use a word then they cannot continue with that card and must choose another one. A player from the opposing team stands by to make sure that these words are not used. The player has 30-90 seconds to play as many cards as they can. If they receive a card that they do not know or struggle with they can move on to another card. When time is called the team gets one point for every card guessed correctly. Then the other team sends a player to do the same.
