Description

In this resource, you'll find an assorted list of mentor texts that can be paired with students' reading of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. Included in this guide are 9 mentor text suggestions that range from poetry, short stories, nonfiction, and multimodal podcasts and art. Included with each mentor text is a publication date, a brief description, and suggestions for how to use each mentor text to supplement student understanding and engagement with the text.

This is a great resource for teachers who are looking for ways to differentiate classroom instruction. This list can be used to create student-choice activity stations where students select the text they want to specialize in, work in small groups, and then present their analysis and connections to the class to help create a more robust understanding of the novel!
