Description

Looking for an Object Function Speech Therapy activity with lots of visual supports? This set of task cards is perfect!

In this set, you'll find two questions about each object ("What is a ___ for?" and "What do you use to ____?"). This allows the student to work on both verbs and nouns.

There are a total of 30 Object Function speech therapy task cards in this set.

**Note: This resource is included in my best-selling Speech Therapy Questions Bundle and my Early Language MEGA Bundle at a big discount!**

The use of visuals and low-distraction backgrounds are ideal for students on the autism spectrum or any young learner. These are great for speech therapy, special education, and preschool students.

Each Object Function Speech Therapy Card includes:

· A written question

· A large picture related to the question to increase comprehension

· Three visual answer choices paired with written words

(You can see the full resource by clicking "view preview")

These cards utilize Picture Communication Symbols® (PCS/Boardmaker symbols), which are familiar to many special education students, especially those who use AAC.

Here's what other educators are saying about this resource:

  • "Great resource, love the picture response choices - very helpful for my students who may not be able to formulate the response independently, but can identify the correct answer when given a choice."
  • "This is a great resource for nonverbal students (as well as verbal students) working on identifying functions of objects because they are given three visuals and can point to their response."

Please note that this is a printable PDF product. You can find the BOOM Card version of this resource here. (The questions/answer choices are the same in this PDF version and in the Boom Cards version.)

To use: Print and cut each page in half on the black line. I typically laminate as well.

Ideas for Differentiation:

• Cover the three answer choices as you read the question aloud to your student with the visual aid picture (large picture) visible. If your student is able, s/he may answer without choices.

• If not, uncover the three answer choices and read the options aloud as you point to each one.

• If this is too difficult, only uncover two or one choice to start (or offer a prompt such as a gesture or verbal prompt)

• Some students find the activity more engaging if they can use a dry erase marker to circle their answers.
