What educators are saying

My students loved this highly engaging resource. The lessons were clear, well organized, and targeted to specific skills. It is aligned to standards, easy to incorporate into the curriculum, and requires minimal prep time.

Description

Owls

This fun nonfiction common core aligned unit is perfect for a 3rd or 4th grade classroom! I created this unit with intention of using the books Owls by Gail Gibbons and White Owl, Barn Owl by Nicola Davies, but all but one of the activities in this unit can be done with any book about owls! (There is one activity that should be used with the book White Owl, Barn Owl.)

This unit includes:

-pre-reading activity to give students a focus

-main ideas and details organizer

-illustrate and caption activity

-vocabulary organizer

-prove author's use of research

-informational writing outline and publishing paper

-simple and compound sentence activity

-owl pellet dissection worksheet

All activities have answer keys!
