Description
Nutritional Deficiency Diseases
Although adults also suffer from nutritional deficiency diseases, children are more vulnerable and the diseases have a more serious impact on their health. This is because they have low immunity levels, their growth rate is high and they are frequently in contact with dirt. Nutritional deficiency diseases are almost as many as there are nutrients. However, we will only discuss the most common of these diseases, since they are the ones that you are likely to encounter in daily life. But before we embark on discussing the deficiencies let us briefly examine the causes of malnutrition.
