Description
Health and Nutrition Project Based Learning - This Nutrition Project will get your students excited about both healthy eating and math! In this real-life nutrition and budget project, students will plan nutritious meals for a day. They must stick to a budget of $40 and choose foods for the recommended food groups using the provided "shopping pages". The food choices have been updated to reflect the new USDA guidelines for eating. This Nutrition Project will teach students beginning budgeting skills using different combinations of amounts up to 40, will teach them about the basic food groups and the correct number of servings of each one, give them practice using ten frames, and will encourage problem solving and creative thinking skills. Students will all solve the given challenge in different ways. This nutrition project would be perfect to use during nutrition month or anytime you wish to teach your students about nutrition!
