What educators are saying

My students loved doing these movement activities with the props during our study of The Nutcracker.

Description

Nutcracker music is a holiday classic in the music room! My students love listening and moving to the various songs from the famous ballet. I have created 6 different movement ideas/routines for you and your students to use.

The lesson plan starts with a set of videos to share with your students showcasing the story of the Nutcracker and basic information about Ballet performances.

Then for each of the following songs there is a movement routine video I have created, step by step directions for the routine, as well as extra videos of ballet dancers, orchestras, and more to use in your classroom.

Songs Included:

Coffee

Chocolate

Tea

Trepak

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy

Waltz of the Flowers

The videos can be used to teach yourself the movements, or you can use them for a substitute lesson or allow the students to watch and learn along as well! All the videos included are unlisted Youtube links, that work when you click on them in the document.
