At the completion of this unit, students will be able to:
• Confidently count to at least 10 in Chinese
• Recognise the numbers 1-10 in characters
• Reproduce some number characters from memory
• Participate in rhymes and songs about numbers
• Take part in games related to numbers
• Match pictures to the correct numbers in Chinese
• Use Chinese hand gestures to count to ten in Chinese

Foundation to Year 2
ACLCHC002: Recognise and copy high frequency characters relating to number.
ACLCHC004: Trace, copy and practise individual characters, such as numbers
ACLCHC005: Respond to Chinese songs and rhymes, reproducing rhythm and sound patterns
ACLCHU011 Recognise Chinese characters as a form of writing and Pinyin as the spelled-out sounds of spoken Chinese
