Number the Stars by Lois Lowry is a great novel for grades 3, 4, and 5. The unit comes with detailed lesson plans for teaching reading comprehension skills and a TON of graphic organizers and resources for your students, both in printable PDF version and digital version! It's ready for use!

Novel unit plans includes a middle of the book assessment and an end of the book assessment (answer keys included) for Number the Stars.

Student journal pages give you the option of taking grades for different skills. There's a lot of pages in this journal. Use what you need for your students!

The included chapter comprehension questions come in both PDF and Google Forms links. The PDF version are all short answer format. Google Forms gives your students multiple choice questions (mostly the same questions in the PDF). Use the self grading answer keys as a guide for what your students' short answers should include.

If you wish to have printable multiple choice questions, just click the 3 dots in the top corner of Google Forms and print.

Number the Stars unit plans wrap up with a student project on symbolism. Students create a Tab Booklet to show the different symbols in the book, what they mean, and how the characters interact with the symbols. A project rubric is included, too.
