Number the Stars Bundle

Number the Stars is the reason I wanted to teach upper elementary. It is my absolute favorite book to share with readers. This bundle includes a variety of resources that can be used in small groups or whole class for comprehension and extension.

Number the Stars Trifold:

Trifolds allow students to all work on the same “work” or task, but at their level. As students progress with their reading group, I provide them with trifolds that go with novels at their reading levels. Included in the product is also a writing wrap up that allows for taking multiple grades for the same “project.”

Number the Stars Notice and Note Passages:

After teaching Notice and Note Fiction Signposts, as well as working through a novel study of Number the Stars, bring them BOTH together and have your students dig deeper into the text, by using their opinions formed from evidence .

Ten (10) specific passages have been chosen from the novel. Students will read through each and determine what signpost is represented in the text. Groups can debate what sign posts they see, as well as find other examples in the book that support their thoughts and theories.

Number the Stars STEM Challenge:

This STEM challenge is building a container (or basket) out of newspaper and masking tape, to deliver the dropped package to Uncle Henrik. Students go through the design loop process and create a prototype and test their work, to see if improvements and adjustments need to be made.
