Ones and Tens Numbers/Words Display (Primary Math)

This resource supports students in connecting numbers in standard form with numbers in word form. This resource also supports students in spelling out numbers in word form correctly. Adding this to your “math wall” and asking students to reference it to spell out numbers encourages independent learning. It also teaches students to be creative problem solvers. The number 42 may not be on the wall, but 40 and 2 both are. Is there a way you could use that to help you write out 42? This resource can also be used to help students understand a number decomposed into tens and ones. If we take 42 again for example, it is just 40 and 2, which is why we can use these word forms to help us write out 42.
