This sculpture art lesson is a perfect metal tooling or repousse lesson to introduce your middle and high school students to relief sculptures. In this relief sculpture art lesson, students will create a relief sculpture following metal tooling and repousse techniques that morphs 2D and 3D art together. Students will be able to recall information about relief sculptures (low & high), identify organic and geometric shapes and use lines, colors, patterns and shapes to create a non-objective work of art that has unity. The lesson includes standards, objectives, vocabulary, materials needed, step-by-step directions, student examples, rubric, reflection questions, printable resources for student use and a YouTube art tutorial.
