Description

This visual 1 pager of 6 different nonfiction reading strategies that can be used in science classes when reading through informational text. It can be glued into students' notebooks and used a reference page for when students are doing annotations in their reading. Making the strategies clear and visible to students help them with their ownership of them and will help them in beginning to use them while they read. Many students struggle with seeing reading as an active instead of a passive process especially with vocabulary heavy text like science texts, these reading strategies will help push them through that obstacle.
