    Description

Finally! All my Night by Elie Wiesel resources in one place! I love teaching this novel because his words are timeless.

This bundle includes my most popular items! And it is GROWING!

    Night Novel Exam

--- This test includes 20 multiple choice questions, 1 short essay (with 4 alternate questions), 4 quote questions, and 15 vocabulary questions

Night SAY, MEAN, MATTER Quote Analysis

This 7-page resource is meant to help students reach a deeper analysis as they read Elie Wiesel's novel Night. I have had much success with the say, mean, matter method in my own classroom. Each page of this resource includes three quotes. After reading the chapter, students are to consider each quote in context (SAYS), paraphrase what the quote MEANS, and explain how the quote MATTERS to the story or how it plays into various themes. A blank copy of the Night Say, Mean, Matter Quote Analysis template is also included so that your students can pick out their own quotes that they see as deserving of analysis.

Night Magic Square Vocabulary and Vocabulary Tests

Magic Squares are a wonderful way to introduce vocabulary terms to any student. This activity uses fifteen terms essential to understanding the world of Night. The student will use his/her prior knowledge of history, math skills, and deductive reasoning to complete the activity. Match the correct vocabulary term to its definition and add the correlating number in its box. If the totals are the same horizontally, diagonally, and vertically, you have found the magic number!

    Night Guided Reading Questions

These guided reading questions are designed to challenge your students! I love teaching Elie Wiesel, but I do not love how easy it was for my students to Google the answers to the chapter questions I inherited from a co-teacher years ago. These worksheets use higher-order thinking questions to encourage your students to REALLY dig deep into Wiesel's words.

    Night Activity Pack!

    • Character Chart: Students explain the significance of each of the listed characters to the plot and overall meaning of the novel.
    • Quote Circle Activity Template: I use these in place of selection quizzes periodically. If you are using my test, you may want to incorporate the quotes included in the exam. I include a list of quotes I have used in the circles in the past along with the chapter in which they are found.
    • If I Were in Charge of the World Poem Template: choose any character (or archetype) from the novel and complete the following poem in his/her words.
    • Loan Words Lesson: students research Hebrew and Yiddish words adopted by the English Language. *Key Now Included*
    • Night Translations Mini Lesson: this is a handout which discusses the various transformations the novel took.
    • Theme Worksheet: students explore various themes found in the novel.
