Newton’s First Law of Motion Activities
- PDF
Description
Newton's Laws of Motion are perfect for giving students' a hands-on learning experience! I like to break up the three Laws into multiple lessons and do small activities after teaching about each one. Included in this purchase in a student PDF worksheet that walks them through five short activities all focused on Newton's First Law. Students will do activities related to inertia and what happens to objects at rest when a force is applied. The students stay engaged and the activities are perfect for referring to later.
Included with purchase:
- Student PDF worksheet
Required for activities:
- Coin (I use pennies, but any coin can work)
- Index cards (the challenge will be to have just the cards/ I also have some with a string pulled through a hole punched end of the index card if they have trouble with just the index card)
- Plastic cups (similar to a red Solo cup)
- Dice
- toy car (I use flat top Hot Wheels/ the vans work the best)
- Dominoes
- Ruler
- Plastic plate (a heavier plastic plate works best/ like a kid's plastic plate)
- Plastic cup (a heavier plastic cup works best/ like a kid's plastic cup)
- Paper towels (a longer piece to represent a tablecloth)
Due to the use of purchased fonts, all of the items included with purchase are PDFs.
