New Year's Eve, New Year's Day Interactive Notebook, New Year's Activities

Need an activity for those first days back from winter break? Have students learn about how other cultures celebrate New Year's! You can use this with students in 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th grade. Celebrating New Year's Around the World- included are the traditions of 8 countries: Scotland, Japan, Denmark, Finland, South Africa, Spain, Philippines, and Bolivia. The included activities can be completed whole group or during center time.

Geo Journeys is a line of interactive notebook products that focuses on integrating Close Reads, culture, geography, writing, and science/social studies content in an engaging way! Each Geo Journey includes a mini-booklet introducing the topic, information pertaining to specific countries, maps, activities and interactive organizers that support each country, Close Read comprehension questions, three writing prompts (informational, opinion, and narrative) that relate to the topic, and Geographical Connections that require students to apply map skills. Students will learn about different countries and the cultures, various science/social studies concepts, apply reading comprehension skills, and apply geography skills.
