Looking to ease your way back into school after the long break? Check out these 5 new year activities that help students reflect on the past year and make plans for the future! These activities can be done whole class or individually, and are perfect to use all throughout January!
This resource is also included in my New Year Activities Growing Bundle. Invest in the bundle to get it for 30% off!
What's Included:
★ Five Different New Year Activities
- Word of the Year: A print out of inspirational word choices to choose from and template for students to write their word and then explain why they selected the word they chose.
- Strong Mind, Strong Me: Students color in a healthy brain OR draw one on their own using a directed drawing that is linked in the PDF. Then they write five positive affirmations that they want to repeat throughout the year around their brain.
- Yearly Awards: Students reflect upon their accomplishments this year and give themselves an award! [VARIATION: Students can also give out a peer award to a classmate! (Separate page) This is a great way to build social skills and have students recognize each other for their great accomplishments and hard work.]
- My Vision for the New Year: Students create a mini vision board by either drawing or cutting and pasting images into the lenses of the glasses.
- New Year Play Dough Prompts: Playing with play dough is a great way to reduce stress and ease back into the new year after break! Students can use play dough to answer and respond to the prompts however they choose! They can spell out words or create shapes or sculptures with the dough.
