Description
In this Nelson Mandela primary source reading assignment, students read a letter from Nelson Mandela that showcases his support of nonviolent resistance and opposition to the Apartheid government in South Africa. Guiding student questions are included and are broken into three sections to have students examine questions based on chunked paragraphs. This simple scaffolding is easy for students to focus on and engage with the source.
