Needs and Wants - Written with Nova Scotia Curriculum in Mind

Thank you for your Interest! This is an investment of time - I've spent 100+ hours writing a "Structured Literacy" Unit plan that encompasses both Reading and Writing skill development through the use of content areas (Social Studies and Health). I plan to continue this work for both first and fifth grades this year (2023-24)

It was my privilege to work for the Annapolis Valley Regional Center for Education from 1988-2023. My roles included classroom teacher, Mentor, Consultant, Internvention Teacher and Learning Support.

Part of my work as a Learning Support Teacher led me to learn about the body of knowledge referred to as The Science of Reading. I spent much of my time learning all I could about all aspects of reading and writing instruction. I have attempted to apply that knowledge here.
