What educators are saying

Students enjoyed this lesson. I enjoyed the ease of planning for it and bringing in other perspectives. I always ask the students....whose story is not being told.
This was a great resource because it covers marginalized people and I like to give my students this side of history. Students enjoy learning about other people. Thank you for the resource.

Description

The classroom version of this lesson includes three infographics that describe the experience of Native Americans, African Americans and Women during the Revolutionary War. Students can visit the infographics with stations or they can view the infographics through Google Classroom. If printed, the posters measure 11x17. I tried my best to write these with information that would engage the students with the stories of the Revolutionary War.

The digital version of the lesson has a choice board for students with 13 slides discussing the experiences of Native Americans, African Americans and Women during the Revolutionary War. See the video preview for more details.

I utilize this lesson in conjunction with my Journey through the Revolutionary War. Also check out my free Declaration of Independence close reading activity

NYS Standards:

7.3d - The outcome of the American Revolution was influenced by military strategies, geographic considerations, the involvement of the Iroquois (Haudenosaunee) and other Native American groups in the war, and aid from other nations. The Treaty of Paris (1783) established the terms of peace.
