Did you know November is Native American Heritage Month? Celebrate it by using these posters!
50+ mini biography posters of Native Americans from the past to present. On every poster is the person's name (and sometimes birth name or native name), picture, years person has lived, and their Native American tribe that the person was/is associated with.
I made these posters for my students to see how many Native Americans have made a difference in our country. I chose people from all kinds of fields - education, government, the arts, sports, science, activists, inventors, etc. I included many of the famous, well-known Native Americans like Tecumseh, Crazy Horse, and Sacagawea, but I've also included modern-day Native Americans that are relevant to us now.
I use these posters to hang in my classroom or in the school hallway. Another idea is to have your students chose an Native American to study and used these posters as their cover page or to hang above their report about the person.
