What educators are saying

I love the task cards and how simple it makes planning dialogue. My students really struggle with dialogue and this was a great exercise for them! Great resource.
I was so pleased to have laid out lessons to break down teaching narrative writing that goes along with a book(mentor text) that we were already reading. There never seems to be enough time in the day and this really helped me lay out strong lessons that tied both subjects together.

    Description

Finding engaging narrative writing lessons can be tough! Writing a story (personal narrative or fiction) from start to finish can seem like a pretty overwhelming task--and it is!  Let this set of four narrative writing resources help you prepare your students to plan, draft, and revise great narratives!

I've been working for years on how to make writing narratives more accessible and meaningful to my students because, let's face it, writing stories for a living isn't what 99% of them will be doing.

That being said, the PROCESS of writing a story and the creative energy of planning one is super valuable--and, of course, there are many essential writing skills that cross genres.

I have created this bundle of FOUR of my best resources on teaching narratives for you to purchase together at a greatly reduced price! All four resources are tested with students and have not only led to GREAT improvements in my students' writing--but they LOVED them as well! Please download the preview or click the links below to see more about all four resources.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will get all four of the following resources:

Introduction to Narrative Writing (Perfect for helping students plan and organize a personal narrative or fiction story)

Narrative Writing Toolkit (My go-to resource for helping students "create" characters and plan a great problem and solution! My students ADORE this and since I've started using it, the stories my students write are SO improved!)

Introduction to Teaching Dialogue (Perfect for teaching students about punctuating dialogue. Using "manipulatives" to teach punctuation? YES!)

Teaching Dialogue Creativity Task Cards (A great and creative way to help students learn to write dialogue to complement narratives. My students have so much fun with these--and I use them several times per year.)
