Naming Chemical Compounds Puzzle - word equations match reactant to product

This is a very engaging activity that my students love!

Working in pairs, the puzzle pieces are cut out and then matched, the reactants to the products. Once all of the pieces have been placed it should form a square.

If you have a lower achieving group this could take 30 minutes, however higher attainers would probably get through it in half that time. Even if students do not understand the concept of a compound, by the end of this activity they should have grasped the idea. It's a lot of practice that eventually makes perfect.
