Description

Fifth Grade NWEA Helper- Math Bundle
It’s ready!!!!!!……I have been working feverishly this summer to complete one of the BEST NWEA help guides.
Our school recently changed to the NWEA testing for assessment of our students and I realized there just wasn’t much out there to help us know what areas this test would have emphasis on. This NWEA HELPER will have ALL of the Fifth Grade NWEA RIT math scores broken down into manageable areas that will have you "in the know" for what areas to emphasize.

This bundle includes:
Number Sense and Operations
Geometry
Measurement
Algebraic Reasoning
Data and Probability

You can direct your students in the correct skills areas to best help them increase their RIT scores. This helper will be so precise, you will be clued in to the exact vocabulary and skills that will be used to give your students an added advantage.

Be sure to look for the Literacy Helpers coming in the near future!

Help your students rock this year's NWEA test by enhancing the necessary vocabulary and skills.

Convert among different-sized standard measurement units within a given measurement system (e.g., convert 5 cm to 0.05 m), and use these conversions in solving multi-step, real world problems.
Make a line plot to display a data set of measurements in fractions of a unit (1/2, 1/4, 1/8). Use operations on fractions for this grade to solve problems involving information presented in line plots. For example, given different measurements of liquid in identical beakers, find the amount of liquid each beaker would contain if the total amount in all the beakers were redistributed equally.
Recognize volume as an attribute of solid figures and understand concepts of volume measurement.
A cube with side length 1 unit, called a “unit cube,” is said to have “one cubic unit” of volume, and can be used to measure volume.
Measure volumes by counting unit cubes, using cubic cm, cubic in, cubic ft, and improvised units.
