What educators are saying

Used part of this as EOY activity last year. Really got my ELLs who were born her to ask their parents about how they came to US and to talk about their culture and home country.

Description

Whether it is self led, or whole-group, this activity serves as a great foundation on the discussion of immigration, and how it has positively influenced American culture! This kid-friendly approach is engaging for students of varying ages.

Throughout the activity, students are encouraged to engage in informational videos, peer conversations, virtual field trips, and a brief summative quiz at the end*. Students will be surprised to find how many of their most-loved trends are actually cultural pieces from countries all over the world.

All activities can be completed via "Roomer" (in-person) or "Zoomer" (remote) style. :)

* Google Quiz must be copied and linked to slide 27 prior to assigning.
