Description
Looking for an easy way to teach instrumental music to your students? This resource is perfect for generalist and music specialists alike to teach music to their upper primary, junior and lower intermediate grades. Each slide comes with easy instructions to teach the songs so all you need is a couple diatonic sets of boomwhackers (depending on how many kids there are in your class) and you are ready to go! (Please note that this resource is for in-person instruction.)
In this Google Slides resource, students will be introduced to the boomwhackers by listening for the elements of music in various YouTube videos and also learning to play the boomwhacker as a musician in a whole-class ensemble. There are also a couple YouTube videos that students can sing along with while playing their boomwhacker such as "Twinkle Twinkle" and "You are my Sunshine".
There are clear links to the Ontario Music Curriculum for ease of assessment when it comes to report card writing as well.
Includes:
- Clear guidelines throughout each of the slides for how to introduce the boomwhackers to students and which tubes to take out for which songs
- Top 10 reasons to teach music through the Boomwhackers
