Description
This product from The Resource Place is a great resource to help your students not only understand how to identify an author's point of view, but also how to respond to a writing prompt in which they need to compare two pieces of text. This skill is often needed on state testing!
Activity #1 : Students will be asked to read two letters in which the author's will give their differing opinions on getting a new puppy. Your kids will then need to identify each author's point of view and cite text evidence. They will then complete 2 writing prompts using the information they collected.
Activity #2: The School Play - Two students give their differing opinions on being in a school play. After reading these descriptions, your students will need to answer 4 questions about their point of view. They will then respond to a writing prompt.
