Myers' Psychology for the AP Course (4th Ed.) Schedule & Reading Assignments

Myers' Psychology for the AP Course (2024) textbook: This Excel spreadsheet contains a schedule with recommended reading assignments and topics for the new 4th edition of Myers' Psychology for the AP Course (2024) textbook. The schedule allows for 111 class periods, culminating in a day to take the practice AP exam that is included in Appendix A of the textbook.

Reading assignments are generally kept to 7 pages per day or less, but occasionally that is not easily feasible due to the nature of the material. It is recommended to assign longer passages over weekends and/or holidays, whenever possible.

The spreadsheet is fully editable, and two columns have been created for you to fill in your own dates and days of the week. Blank columns to the far right can be populated with your teaching objectives and activities.

This spreadsheet does NOT include suggestions for activities, homework (other than textbook reading), or assessments. The textbook's review pages are intentionally left off the reading assignments, so you can choose to utilize those however it best fits your needs. One recommendation is to begin each class period with a quiz directly from the review questions at the end of each module. Students will quickly learn to study those before class, which should improve their retention of the material.
