Description

The Writer's Office is a reference tool intended for students in kindergarten, first, and second grade to help students become more independent throughout the writing process.

This is hands down THE BEST Writer's Office for students AND teachers. As far as set up goes, these are 8.5 X 11 sheets and all you have to do is print and and staple onto file folders OR laminate and bind them, as shown in the picture. I also sell the product ready made with heavy duty lamination and professional binding materials on my Etsy site. Click here to buy physical product

Why is this one better than the rest?

I searched TPT and the internet and the writer's offices were all the same--weird fonts that were not good models for writing, pointless graphic organizers that kids DESPISE using, and no clear examples of how kids are expected to write. My Writer's includes a word wall with the most frequently used words in alphabetical order. Each word is written on handwriting lines for modeling purposes. At the bottom, there are categories with pictures to allow students to use this as their ultimate reference tool for writing. It includes color, number, clothing, body, school, and family words. On the right side it shows adjectives with shades of meaning to allow students to use more advanced words, changing 'sad' to 'miserable.' On the back of the writer's office are anchor charts for the three most common types of writing in elementary school: Informational, Narrative, and Opinion. Last but not least, the Writer's Office has a writing checklist with pictures to help students edit their work. The Writer's Office is not only a great reference tool, it also acts as a personal office, or barrier, allowing students to focus during writing time.
