My Monster Relaxation Book

This is a wonderful introduction to progressive muscle relaxation for young children. The story begins by having children choose their monster emotion (it is encouraged that these sheets are laminated and Velcro is placed on the back so that children can pick their monster emotion head and place it on the monster). After choosing their monster emotion, the child is then encouraged to pick up a squishy stress ball and place it throughout the body to squeeze (contract the muscles) and relax. The book ends with a breathing exercise and reassurance that the child has effectively calm themselves. A great story that when repeated teaches children to self-regulate and calm themselves. Wonderful for young children.
