This set of worksheets is designed to help your students practice sol and mi.

*The zip file contains a copy to be used for "sol and mi" as well as "so and mi". Just use whichever version you need!
It includes:
- "Sol and mi on Solfa Street" worksheets. This also comes in a "Melody Street" and "Music Street" version. If you call your solfa street something else, let me know and I will customize it for you. Students show which house is sol and mi on Solfa Street. Then, they trace sol and mi on the staff.
- "Lost in Space" worksheets (One with pitches as filled in circles, and one with transparent circles). Students write the correct space note name in a box below the staff.
- "Sol and mi Trace" worksheets Students trace and fill in sol and mi in various places on the staff.
- "Star Musicians Know their Lines and Spaces" worksheets (One with pitches as filled in circles, and one with transparent circles). Students write the correct space note name in a box below the staff.
- "Copycat Friends" worksheet- Sol is given on the staff, students have to draw where mi would live. My kids know that sol and mi are "copycats" so if sol is on a line mi will be on the line below, etc. This worksheet is available with the note heads filled in or with empty note heads so students can see the lines going through the notes. Use whichever version you like best!
- "On the search for sol" - Sol and mi are showed on staff in a variety of places, students circle to show which note is sol. This comes in two versions, one with filled in note heads and one with empty note heads.
- "Mystery mi" - Sol and mi are showed on staff in a variety of places, students circle to show which note is mi. This comes in two versions, one with filled in note heads and one with empty note heads
- "Star Light, Star Bright" Students cut and paste the patterns to put the song in order.
- "Rain, Rain, Go Away" Students cut and paste the patterns to put the song in order.
- "Sol-mi Match Up" Students draw a line to match up the first four beats of each song to the correct song title and picture. (Songs include Lemonade, Doggie Doggie, Rain Rain Go Away, and Rain Rain Go Away).
- "Compose your own sol-mi song" - Students use given rhythms to create a plan for their own composition by writing s or m under each one and then moving it down to the staff.
- "What do you hear?" (JUST ADDED 2/16/15) - sol-mi patterns are shown on a one line staff. Teacher sings a pattern and students choose the correct one.
- "What do you hear?" (JUST ADDED 2/16/15) - sol-mi patterns are shown on a five line staff. Teacher sings a pattern and students choose the correct one.
