Description
Your Kindergarten and 1st Grade students will experience the rush of being at the Ski Resort with this interactive Google Slides presentation. Have fun exploring the Ski Resort while practicing music skills from home or in the classroom.
This Lesson could be done all in one lesson (45 min.) or you could explore one part of the Ski Resort (5-15 min.) over about 5 lessons. The activities can be completed in an asynchronous and/or synchronous learning environment, as there are audio instructions (via YouTube video) included for each activity.

- Sled Vocal Exploration
- Students explore high and low using their voice to follow the pathway of the sledder
- Audio example and directions provided for the first one
- Steady Beat Slopes
- Students move to the steady beat along with the included video
- Each slope increases in speed
- I Have a Little Snowman
- Students will learn and sing along with a provided instructional video to the song “I Have a Little Snowman” (Key of C)
- Lyrics for the “I Have a Little Snowman” variant:
- I have a little snowman / He is so fat and round. / I made him from a snowflake / that fell upon the ground. / I gave him eyes, a nose, a mouth / A nice warm scarf of red. / I put some buttons on his coat. / A hat upon his head. / Watch him as he melts to the ground.

- Practice identifying whether the music example has a steady beat or not by listening and then selecting the matching mug
- Winter Patterns
- Practice speaking 4-beat Winter patterns using icons
- Present Pre-rhythm syllables (‘Long’ and ‘Short short’) to students with an included instructional video
