What educators are saying

I have one student on my caseload that is very interested in musical instruments. This was a great activity to get a language sample and probe some of his goals.

    Description

This bundle combines three fantastic games designed for PowerPoint! Cute and funny monsters represent each team, and scores update automatically when you click the monsters' scoreboard (check mark for correct, x for incorrect). After 30 seconds of no response, a funny buzzer sound automatically sounds! Sound effects also coordinate with the correct and incorrect responses- clicking on the check mark plays a 'crowd cheering' sound, and clicking on the x plays a 'blooper' sound. Sure to generate laughs as your students learn! **Now updated to include a 'Daily Double', hidden on one of the slides! A 3D Marshmallow Man will appear, along with a fun music track! Your students will be surprised and it adds an extra element of fun. Don't forget to double the points!

Orchestra Jeopardy features audio examples of orchestral instruments! Students can practice ear-training as they listen and identify instruments based on tone and timbre, Jeopardy style! Just click the play button to hear the instrument performing a solo melody. The answer slides also feature a picture of the correct instrument, helping students to make the connection between sound and label.

Multicultural Music Jeopardy features modern examples to show students of instruments from other cultures being played. When I taught in the music classroom, I would search YouTube and create a list on my computer, but then would have to load them up and have them in 'queue', ready to add to my lesson... well I'm happy to say that is a thing of the past! This super fun game of Jeopardy has a carefully curated set of performances embedded right within the PowerPoint.

Here is how the game works: students choose from one of the categories (music from Japan, Africa, China, Spain, India) and then listen to an audio performance. If they are correct, a 'cheering' sound effect plays (and a funny 'wrong' sound effect if they are not!) Then there is an option to play a video of that particular instrument in a live performance (or to wait until the end of the game, and then watch the performances).

Famous Composers Jeopardy: Test your knowledge (or learn for the first time!) interesting facts about famous composers throughout music history. Students choose from the categories of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn and Tchaikovsky. Perfect for students K-5.

Requires PowerPoint (Mac or Windows version)

Notes on function: Please be sure to enable macros and editing otherwise the scoreboard feature will not update automatically. -Make sure to view file as a presentation- this will allow you to interact with the file and for all the animations and audio to work.
