Music Composers - Middle School and General Music Activities - Sub Plans

Music ComposersResearch mini-projects are excellent for Middle School and General Music classes and music sub plans. Students work on research, technology, reading, comprehension, and writing skills as they research the life and music of a music composer.

Choose Your Format - These activities come in 2 different formats.

1. PRINTABLE FORMAT

• Print off the student's response pages individually or combine them to create a student workbook.

2. DIGITAL TPT EASEL FORMAT

• There is also a digital version using TpT's Easel digital tool. These activities can be assigned in Google Classroom or with a link. You can access the Easel version via your purchases page or the product listing page.

WHAT'S INCLUDED:

There are TWO different activity sheets and TWO versions of each. These are designed to suit different ages/abilities.

1. There are TWO versions of the first activity sheet. They are THE SAME except for how the students access the internet to obtain the answers. One uses clickable links to the sites containing the answers and the other QR codes.

• This activity sheet contains SIX questions about the life and music of the composer.

• An ANSWER sheet is also included!

• Depending on the technology available to you in your classroom, the student(s) will click on the links provided OR use a QR reader app to scan the QR code. (The QR reader app I use is I-nigma. It is a FREE download on iTunes, and I have never had any problems with it.

• Students are to read the information on the website/s to find the answers to the questions.

2. There are also TWO versions included for the second activity sheet. It has been designed as an independent mini-biography research project.

Students will research FIVE-SIX facts about the composer and record them in the graphic organizer. They will then write an informative paragraph about the life and music of the composer.
